Deutsche Börse study argues LSE merger holds key to better regulation

Hardly a day goes by without new analysis of the implications of Brexit for the future of clearing in London. A new study commissioned by Deutsche Börse says that its planned tie-up with London Stock Exchange Group could be key to securing suitable oversight of derivatives markets.

The UK’s vote to leave the EU gave rise to renewed calls to shift clearing of euro-denominated products from London to mainland Europe, with one aim being to protect the region’s ability to oversee those activities.
