Bonuses at Deutsche Bank are not just back to normal — for a select band of senior investment bankers they are among the highest in Europe.

The German bank, which published its annual report on Friday, paid 984 full-time material risk takers in its corporate and investment bank — those whose actions could impact the bank's risk profile — a combined €1.46bn, equal to around €1.5m ($1.8m) each. Variable pay accounted for around 65% of the total.
