Amply filling the guest speaker slot at the Technology Gala Awards Dinner in London last week, Digby Jones, director-general of the Confederation of British Industry, called on all present to combat xenophobia.

He cited the UK's long history of welcoming immigrant entrepreneurs, from the Huguenots to the persecuted Jewry of Central and Eastern Europe.
