The digital banking start-up Monzo is reportedly weeks away from closing a fundraising of between £50m and £100m.

The fintech firm, which has seen its brightly coloured card and banking app soar in popularity over the past few years, last secured external capital as recently as June, when the US growth investor Y Combinator Continuity led a £113m investment. That round valued Monzo at more than £2bn.
