Disney agrees $52.4bn deal for key parts of 21st Century Fox

Move seen strengthening Disney’s streaming, television businesses

Walt Disney has announced it is to buy select assets of 21st Century Fox for $52.4bn in stock, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The acquisition would include the company’s Twentieth Century Fox film and television studio, and its international and cable TV businesses. As part of the deal, Disney will also assume about $13.7bn of debt belonging to 21st Century Fox.
