Dubai bourse volumes soar as CEO celebrates anniversary

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange has more than quadrupled trading volumes since its 2007 launch, with particularly high growth over the last year under its new chief executive

Trading volumes on the Dubai Mercantile Exchange increased 36% year-on-year in July, with the bourse having seen growth in 11 of the past 12 months, as its chief executive celebrates one year in the role.

Average daily trading volumes on the DME reached their highest-ever level in July with 7,381 contracts traded, up more than a third on July 2012 and 6% higher than June.
