I read with some dismay the recent Financial News front page decrying a ‘City beset by gloom’. Clearly on the evidence there are issues to be addressed when it comes to worker satisfaction in the Square Mile but the outlook for London’s financial industry is not all bleak.

The immediate aftermath of Brexit no doubt cast a shadow of uncertainty over some sectors but the strong messages coming out of central government and the Bank of England since have provided many reasons to be cheerful.
