Dougan shakes up CSFB's debt and equity markets

Brady Dougan, chief executive of Credit Suisse First Boston, is merging the bank's debt and equity capital markets businesses as part of a worldwide restructuring plan aimed at boosting profitability.

The two will be combined into a new unit called the global market solutions group and led by Eric Varvel, CSFB's co-head of corporate and investment banking who was appointed last month.
