Dow Jones Indexes has promoted Lars Hamich to head of global business development, more than a year after the departure of predecessor Peter Reitz to Eurex, the world's largest derivatives exchange.

Hamich had already taken on some of the European responsibilities of Reitz's global post and will now oversee the rest. He will also continue in his existing role as head of European index development and be officially based in Frankfurt but spend time in New York.
