Dow set for longest negative streak in over a year on latest tariff threats

US stock-index futures fell sharply on Tuesday, setting the Dow up for its longest streak of negative sessions in more than a year after President Donald Trump threatened to slap up to $400bn more in tariffs on China goods, the latest escalation in a trade dispute that has been unsettling investors for months.

What did the main benchmarks do?
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures tumbled 315 points, or 1.3%, to 24,700, while S&P 500 futures dropped 28.5 points, or 1%, to 2,751.25. Nasdaq-100 futures lost 98 points, or 1.3%, to 7,178.25.
