The former head of emerging markets research and strategy at Dresdner Kleinwort has joined the consultancy and economic think tank chaired by Nouriel Roubini, the academic known as "Dr Doom" for his dire predictions on the economy in the run-up to the financial crisis.

Arnab Das, who worked at Dresdner Kleinwort from 2001 until earlier this year, will become a managing director in charge of market research and strategy at Roubini Global Economics, according to a statement.
