Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW) has appointed Rick Weinstein to run a new credit derivatives unit that draws several strands of this fast-growing sector together.

Credit derivatives are used by banks and investors for a wide range of needs, from obtaining default protection in the corporate bond market to laying off portfolio risk in the asset-backed market, or to create one-off regulatory arbitrage deals for clients.
