DWS dumps EY as auditor following Wirecard accounting scandal

Fallout from fintech's fall from grace spreads as prosecutors prepare lawsuits

Deutsche Bank’s asset-management division, DWS, will no longer use EY as its auditor in the aftermath of the €1.9bn alleged fraud at German payments processor, Wirecard.

DWS ended its commercial relationship with Big Four firm EY over concerns that the asset manager could become conflicted in potential lawsuits against the accounting firm or the failed fintech company, according to a spokesman.
