Bankers eye ECB asset review as catalyst for sales

The European Central Bank's Asset Quality Review, broader in scope than many had expected, could finally unlodge some of the distressed assets stuck on bank balance sheets.

The ECB outlined the scope and timeline of the review yesterday. It will cover a broad range of asset classes including domestic and non-domestic exposures and credit and market exposures.
