The chair of the European Central Bank's supervisory board has three New Year's resolutions in mind for the banks under her supervision. They are: adapting business models, improving risk management, and dealing with legacy assets.

In a speech on January 25, Danièle Nouy said the resolutions were "ambitious" but "based on common sense" and that following them "would make the European banking sector more stable and more profitable".
