Hugh Hendry's Eclectica reports 80% profits fall

Outspoken contrarian investor failed to ride the recovery last year after bearish outlook helped him outperform in 2008

Eclectica Asset Management, the firm run by outspoken contrarian investor Hugh Hendry, has shown a 79.9% drop in the profits it shares between the members of its partnership, after the bearish manager failed to match the strong performance he had enjoyed in 2008.

Eclectica Asset Management LLP, an investment manager, reported a group profit for division among its members of £1,717,667 in the 12 months to March 31, 2010.
