Edinburgh Fund Managers' Andrew Bamford was the surprise winner in the 2000 Tempest survey of UK smaller companies when he was named the top individual fund manager.

Bamford won an extremely tight race for first place, which saw only a 0.06 percentage point difference between the winner and the third placed.
