Ex-ABN Amro adviser takes FIG reins at UBS

The Swiss bank looks to rebuild momentum having slipped out of the top 10 FIG fee earners in Emea this year

A former adviser to ABN Amro and Euronext has been handed the reins of UBS's financial institutions group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as the bank looks to rebuild momentum having slipped out of the top 10 FIG fee earners in the region for the year to date.

Edouard de Vitry was named co-head of the team in 2008 alongside Ian Gladman, when David Soanes was promoted to a new role. Gladman later went on a sabbatical in the summer of last year, and in August 2010 Patrick Porritt was named as co-head with de Vitry.
