TowerGroup, an international research and advisory firm for financial services, has identified factors that are driving investment and realignment of the institutional brokerage market in two reports on the structure of the sector .

Its research sees five trends driving IT decision-making among institutional brokerages: the continuing drive for operational efficiency, falling revenues, changing market structure, new IT infrastructures and regulatory pressures.
