EIB to target UK investors with issuance programme

The European Investment Bank will launch bond issues worth between £50m (€82m) and £500m when it begins a programme of issuance targeting individual investors in the UK.

The EIB, a supranational entity owned by European countries, is the largest non-gilt issuer in the sterling bond market. Rene Karsenti, director of funding, wants to significantly increase the bank's penetration into the UK's retail market.
