Electra Investment Trust, a private equity trust, has seen its net asset value decline by 11.4% over the last six months, a faster rate than the FTSE All Share index which fell by 10.5%.
A spokesman for the trust said: "The comparison with the FTSE benchmarks is not terribly relevant. The market conditions for private equity have made it a difficult period. The public markets have made realisations harder to achieve, whether through IPOs or a trade sale or to financial buyers, who have provided the most significant exit routes for Electra."
