Roger Yates, the chairman of Electra Private Equity, has resigned after activist investor Edward Bramson won seats on the company's board at the second time of asking.

Shareholders in the London-listed trust handed Bramson, who leads Sherborne Investors, and former PwC UK chairman Ian Brindle seats on the company's board at a vote in London on November 5.
