EMI works it out after getting no satisfaction

Terra Firma is striving for a new arrangement for the music group

One of the most controversial private equity deals of recent years faces an uncertain future. Two years on, a potential restructuring of the music portfolio company EMI Group hangs in the balance.

A reorganisation by Terra Firma Capital Partners has created a more efficient group, yet a senior source said Terra Firma now believed that without further restructuring the group would be unable to return its £2bn (€2.2bn) investment.
