Enforcement chief departs NASD

Barry Goldsmith, executive vice president for enforcement at NASD, is leaving the US regulator to become a partner at law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Last week the NASD elected Mary Schapiro, vice chairman and head of NASD's regulatory policy and oversight division, to succeed Robert Glauber as chairman and chief executive when he steps down from the role at the end of 2006.
