Engstrom crosses over to General Atlantic

Erik Engstrom, who is widely credited with turning around the fortunes of Bertelsmann-owned publisher Random House, is moving to private equity firm General Atlantic Partners.

Engstrom, who is president and chief operating officer of Random House, will join General Atlantic as a partner with effect from March. General Atlantic is the largest indepedent IT investment fund, with $4bn (€4.3bn) of capital available to invest.
