ENI, the Italian oil and gas conglomerate, is planning a €5bn ($4.6bn) initial public offering of Rete Gas Italia, its gas distribution network, in potentially one of the biggest corporate offers of the year.
Vittorio Mincato, chief executive at ENI, said: "If market conditions permit we are hoping to list between 30% and 50% of Rete Gas Italia in the autumn."
