Enskilda does first deal for Vodafone

Vodafone, the UK mobile operator, has used Enskilda Securities for the first time to advise on the acquisition of a stake in Europolitan, a Swedish telecoms company.

Vodafone's regular advisers are Goldman Sachs and UBS Warburg, and the company rarely uses other banks for corporate finance work. But Martin Brandt, a corporate finance director at Enskilda Securities, said Vodafone - which already owned 82.3% of Europolitan - wanted to involve a bank that had in-depth knowledge about the local investor base.
