Environment groups target French banks

French banking groups are facing threats of a public boycott after their record on environmental and tax issues was attacked by a coalition of 33 of some of the world's largest pressure groups, including Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace.

The coalition claims its campaign, launched last week, is the first to target inactivity by France's banks on sustainable development and climate change.
