E.ON, the German utility, has completed the last piece of the Ruhrgas jigsaw by agreeing to buy the remaining 40% of the German gas distributor.

Although the deal is dependent on a favourable ruling from the German government, E.ON said it would pay €4.1bn ($4bn) for the stake.
