Ernst & Young advises AMP on European buying spree

AMP has turned to Ernst & Young for financial advice for the first time, on its £52.1m (€86.7m) purchase of Interactive Investor International (III), as the Australian financial services group prepares to strengthen its European presence.

AMP is ready to spend several hundred million pounds to bolster its penetration of the European market for personal finance, particularly targeting financial services companies which, like III, have internet portals.
