Ernst & Young has promoted Alan Pateman-Jones, former head of retail banking, to be head of financial services in the UK. He will be part of the up and coming leadership team to start when Mark Otty takes control of the firm this summer.

Pateman-Jones, who first joined Ernst & Young in 1997, rejoined the firm in 2004 after four years at Lloyds TSB. At Lloyds TSB Pateman-Jones had been chief executive of the private bank and managing director for customer offers.
