Fabio Gallia, managing director of Ersel Asset Management in Milan, has left after 11 years to join Banca di Roma as finance director.
This is the Rome bank's latest high-profile hire following last year's appointment of Matteo Arpe, the former head of investment banking at Mediobanca and former head of European strategic equity at Lehman Brothers. Arpe is seen as the golden boy of Italian finance and has ambitious plans to turn around the fortunes of Banca di Roma.
