Esma pushes for more powers to revive EU capital markets

The European Securities and Markets Authority is calling on the EU to give it more powers as the regulator looks to boost Europe’s “underdeveloped” capital markets.

European markets could benefit if exchanges and clearing houses were supervised at the EU level rather than the national level, Esma said.
