ETFs nudge ahead of hedge funds

Exchange-traded funds managed more money than hedge funds for the first time in history at the end of June - albeit by the slimmest of margins.

Data provider ETFGI puts the value of ETFs at the end of last month at $2.971 trillion. This compared to the $2.969 trillion managed by hedge funds, confirmed by data provider HFR.
