Regulators should look for ways to encourage retail investors’ participation in special purpose acquisition companies, EToro's chief has said, ahead of the firm’s own debut via the process later this year.

But the views of chief executive Yoni Assia are blowing against market watchdogs who have mounting concerns over Spacs. Regulators like the US Securities and Exchange Commission are worried that shareholders may not receive the same thorough disclosures when they fund a Spac compared to a routine initial public offering.
