EU parliament president enters self-isolation

Sassoli said a member of his staff had tested positive for Covid-19, forcing him into quarantine until further checks can be done

David Maria Sassoli, the president of the European Parliament, has entered self-isolation, just days after Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, was also forced to quarantine.

Sassoli said on Twitter on 8 October that a member of his staff had tested positive for Covid-19, and that he would now be self-isolating for the necessary amount of time.
