European company law could be radically harmonised if proposals made recently by a group of EU 'wise men' are implemented.

The High Level Group of Company Law Experts, established by the Internal Markets Commission in September last year, was charged with offering proposals for a revised Takeover Directive and with making recommendations for a modern company law framework.
