The European Union’s financial regulator has drawn a blank on the extent to which firms are attempting to sidestep Brexit’s impact on market access, raising questions over whether its oversight of the national authorities policing the rules is sufficient.

In a blow to UK negotiators, the EU refused to grant so-called equivalence to the nation’s financial services companies who wanted to trade in the bloc post-Brexit.
