EU regulators warn City firms over use of ‘chaperoning’ to sidestep Brexit

Financial services watchdogs in the European Union have warned City firms against using a tactic known as chaperoning to circumvent Brexit, stoking fears of a regulatory clampdown on the practice.

Chaperoning allows London traders to continue to provide services to customers in the EU by including a colleague regulated to work in the bloc on a call.
