Eurex, the Swiss-German derivatives exchange, is to expand its fledgling Italian equity index contracts to capture a bigger share of the market from the local exchange, Idem.

Late last month, Eurex launched a new index future, the Dow Jones Italy Titans 30, which competes with one of Idem's flagship index contracts, the MIB30 equity index future. From next month, it will add a series of options on the index.
