Euromarket loan volumes drop after tough second half year

Following a dismal second half of 2001, global loan volumes ended the year significantly down from 2000 levels, according to data from Dealogic.

The Euromarket showed the greatest percentage decrease of all regions, finishing 28.5% lower than in 2000, after posting comparable figures through the first two quarters. The market, like others, suffered a slump during the third quarter before the events of September 11 heightened fears of a global downturn.
