The chief executive of Euronext, one of Europe's largest exchange operators, has predicted that the City will lose a "significant part" of its lucrative role in the trading and clearing of euro-denominated assets after Brexit.

Speaking to analysts and journalists on a conference call following the firm's first-quarter results, Stéphane Boujnah said "one way or another" relocation is likely.
