The Warsaw stock exchange has approached Euronext, the pan-European bourse, to join in a bid for the privatisation of the Lithuania exchange pitting it against OMHex, the operator of the Swedish and Finnish exchanges.

A Euronext spokeswoman said: "We have been approached in regard to the privatisation of the Vilnius bourse. We are looking at the issue together with the Warsaw bourse."
