Volatility powers Euronext profits

Exceptional market volatility boosted Euronext's performance in the third quarter, as the European exchange operator prepares for the arrival of its new chief executive on November 16.

The Paris-based group, which runs stock markets in Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon, on November 3 said third-quarter operating profits before exceptional items surged by 46.9% from €49.9 million to €73.4 million.
