Europe shows signs of life after fall-back in volumes

Despite ECM volume shrinking, IPO activity in Europe showed a small rise

Just as equity capital market bankers began planning to take an extended Easter break, the European market finally began to show signs of life. In the last month of the quarter there were even some successful initial public offerings.

Matthias Mosler, head of European ECM at Merrill Lynch, says: 'The market has changed in the last four weeks and the IPO market is back on track.'
