European banks nab smaller slice of investment banking revenues

European investment banks continued to lose ground to their US rivals in the first quarter.

European banks captured just 30% of global investment-banking revenue during the first three months of the year, the lowest first-quarter level on record, according to Dealogic. Meanwhile, their US competitors grabbed half of all global investment-banking fees during the period, the highest first-quarter share since 2002.
