NYSE Euronext registered a 48% rise in European equity trading volumes last year as its clients completed a total â¬3.4bn ($4.9bn) worth of transactions despite heightened competition from rivals offering off-exchange trading.
Equity trades on Euronext hit a record 309 million transactions last year, as the value of trades rose 40% compared to 2006.
