Over Christmas New Yorkers became used to thousands of Europeans taking advantage of the fall in the dollar to do their shopping. European private equity firms are following in their footsteps. In the past month Cinven and BC Partners have announced plans to open offices in the US ahead of their next fundraisings.
BC Partners is relocating Raymond Svider, one of its most experienced managers, to New York in the second quarter alongside Justin Bateman and Fahim Ahmed from the London office and Hans Haderer from Hamburg. The firm has hired a headhunter to recruit local partners.
