Dealmakers in Europe are booking their flights and getting ready to take transatlantic trips after years of playing host to their US rivals.

For the first time since 2010, European purchases in the US outstripped deals going the other direction in 2014 as companies looked to escape low-growth home economies and buy into a resurgent US, dealmakers say.
