The European Fund and Asset Management Association has appointed Viscount Trenchard as the first director-general of its Brussels-based secretariat.

The organisation has changed its name from the Fédération Européenne des Fonds et Sociétés d'Investissement and started expanding its activities beyond investment funds to cover asset managers.
